The Feed Tube is made with a 2-inch diameter opening. The #12 size grinder is specially designed with an opening of 2 ¾ inches, this extra space allows the meat to move through the grinder more efficiently. Smaller holes often cause meat to clog and get stuck in the machine if it’s moving too quickly. The wider opening makes it easier for the ground meat to fall through and be pushed out.
